Congress in Turmoil After Digvijaya Singh’s Controversial RSS-BJP Remarks

The Indian National Congress is going through more internal chaos after top leader Digvijaya Singh posted something on social media that many saw as support for the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), causing a political uproar. Singh's comments have shown that the opposition party isn't united. This has led to criticism and calls for change from key party leaders.

What Started the Argument?

Singh posted an old picture of a young Prime Minister Narendra Modi next to BJP veteran L.K. Advani, showing the "power of organisation" by highlighting how a local party worker could become a national leader. Congress members and members of other parties who didn't agree with it saw this as strange support for the RSS-BJP setup.

Backlash and Clarification

Singh explained, after being criticised, that he did not support the ideas of the RSS or BJP and still disagrees with them. He stressed that his comment was about the strength of an outfit and not about liking a political party. He also said that Congress needs to fix how it works internally and turn its historic legacy into stronger support from the grassroots.

In Congress, there are different points of view. Being a Leader

Responses from Congress have been mixed. Another top leader, Shashi Tharoor, agreed with Singh and said that making the party stronger would help. He said that discipline and unity are very important for Congress's future. But others in the party took a hard ideological stance, saying there was "nothing to learn" from the RSS and warning against assuming that an organization's speed means it supports a political candidate.

Political Aftermath and Reactions of the Opposition

The BJP has used the disagreement to question Congress's leadership and unity and has asked Rahul Gandhi to react clearly. Critics of the party say that Singh's comments show that there is more unhappiness and confusion in Congress than previously thought.

What This Means for Congress

Some people think the episode was an honest call for introspection, while others are worried that it could hurt the party's ideological stance and public messaging. As the general elections approach, the Congress needs to keep internal unity and clear opposition tactics in mind.
