India Joins Pax Silica Coalition at AI Impact Summit
India joins the U.S.-led Pax Silica coalition at the India AI Impact Summit 2026, securing semiconductor supply chains, reducing China dependence, and attracting major AI investments.
India officially became a member of the Pax Silica coalition led by the U.S. on February 20, 2026, as the country signed the Pax Silica Declaration during the India AI Impact Summit in New Delhi. IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and U.S. signed the agreement. Secretary Jacob Helberg. Pax Silica will be developing a safe supply chain of AI and semiconductor that will not rely on China. India is the 10th member, which gives them the benefit of advanced chip technology, GPU infrastructure, and international investments. The key technology giants were present, which strengthens the strategic attitude of India towards AI.
India Signs Declaration of Pax Silica Future, Guarantees AI Future
In December 2025 India officially joined Pax Silica, a U.S. based strategic technology alliance. It was signed in the India AI Impact Summit in New Delhi which marked a seminal shift in the global semiconductor and AI alignment policy. The coalition also aims at substituting the weaponized dependency, especially the decreasing dependence on China as a source of rare earth minerals and semiconductor supply chains. In the case of India, it will enhance the security of its long-term electronics given that more than 90 percent of its imports of rare earths today is of Chinese origin. IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and U.S. signed the agreement. With Signalling a growing Indo-U.S. technology alliance, Under Secretary Jacob Helberg.
India Positioning Strategy Strategic AI Backed by Global Tech Leaders
There was a great international attendance at the summit. The U.S delegates were headed by Michael Kratsios, the Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, and U.S. Ambassador, Sergio Gor. Technology leaders such as Sundar Pichai of Google, Sam Altman of OpenAI and Sanjay Mehrotra of Micron were present. Their existence highlighted the emerging role of India in the frontier AI application and semiconductor production. Pax Silica manages the silicon stack, its full range, through mineral mining to semiconductor manufacturing, data centres and high-level AI solutions. The UAE and Qatar are also onboard the coalition, which now consists of the U.S, Japan, South Korea, the UK, Australia, Israel, Singapore, Greece and the UAE.
Significant Investments and Strategic Viagra in Indo U.S. Relations
The membership of India is in line with the immense infrastructure. Microsoft has declared its intention to invest in AI infrastructure of 17.5 billion, whereas Google has invested in AI data hubs in India (15 billion). These investments promote the growth of GPU infrastructure and the design of chips with 2-nanometer degree of advancement. This move comes after the two nations have been improving their bilateral relations with each other such as the implementation of the U.S.-India COMPACT of the 21st Century and an interim trade agreement. Analysts consider it a strategic shift - India is getting stronger economically, but politically it is equalising the high-tech supply chain dominance of China.
