Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals IPL 2025 Match Canceled

The cricket match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals scheduled for IPL 2025 in Dharamsala has been canceled. The match was to be held at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium but was called off for safety reasons. This decision came after some incidents occurred in Jammu, said IPL chairman Arun Dhumal. There was a blackout in Jammu, located about 200 km from Dharamsala, after Pakistani missiles were intercepted in the region. News agency PTI mentioned that air raid alerts in nearby areas caused the hill town to suffer a blackout, impacting the scheduled match. Initially, one floodlight tower stopped working, followed by two more, leading to the abandonment of the game as a precaution.
At some point during the event, just one floodlight tower remained operational. A report from PTI mentioned that fans were instructed to exit the stadium. Regarding the cricket match, Punjab Kings had managed to score 122 runs for the loss of 1 wicket in 10.1 overs. They had decided to bat first before the power outage occurred.
