Rishabh Pant Ruled Out of India-New Zealand ODI Series
Rishabh Pant has been recently ruled out of the India-New Zealand ODI series due to an unfortunate injury. He will be replaced by Dhruv Jurel, as per BCCI's recent official statement.
This may come as shocking news for all Rishabh Pant fans! He has reportedly been ruled out of the latest ODI series following the onset of discomfort in his right lateral abdominal area.
Rishabh felt the pain while he was batting in the nets during the team’s practice session on Saturday.
According to reports, Team India, including Rishabh Pant, was practicing at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara when this unfortunate incident occurred.
Rishabh Pant Tried to Make a Comeback
As soon as Rishabh felt discomfort in the abdominal area, he was taken for an MRI scan. Later, the BCCI medical team also met with experts to discuss the cricketer’s radiological and clinical reports.
Unfortunately, it was revealed that Rishabh was suffering from an Oblique Muscle Tear, which is a type of side strain.
As a result, the cricketer was ruled out of the latest ODI series.
Who Will Replace Rishabh?
Substitutes are as strong as the leading players in the Indian cricket team. In this case, too, the BCCI already had a name in mind.
Reportedly, Dhruv Jurel has replaced Rishabh Pant and linked up with the rest of the squad.
The BCCI also released an official statement as soon as the authorities replaced Rishabh Pant with Dhruv.

A Little More About Dhruv Jurel
Dhruv Jurel is a right-handed batter and wicketkeeper who represents Uttar Pradesh in domestic cricket. He has also played for the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Dhruv was appointed the vice-captain of the Indian U19 team at the 2020 U19 Cricket World Cup.
He has been UP’s top-scorer in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and reportedly made 558 runs in seven matches, including two excellent centuries, at an average of over 90.
Now, it is yet to be seen whether Dhruv can showcase the same magic in New Zealand’s tour of India.
