The Festival of Light – and a Deeper Message

The Prime Minister in his message, first of all, uses the festival of light as an example of the success of the Operation Sindoor campaign to eliminate Maoist and Naxalite terror. In many districts including remote ones, for the first time, lights are being lit after the said operation.

He points out that the Deepavali this year is more than just a festive occasion — it is the second celebration after the grand consecration of Ram Temple, Ayodhya, and compares the teachings of Lord Shri Ram to the fight of the country against injustice.

Eradication of Terror & Historic Achievements

Modi applauds the complete triumph of Operation Sindoor — India is portrayed as not only the one who upheld righteousness but also the one that “avenged injustice”.

Moreover, to support the claim, he refers to the total elimination of Maoist and Naxal violence in the central regions, and the transformation of the areas that used to be violent now celebrating with light and hope.

These feats are presented as the bedrock of a larger national story which speaks of stability in the face of global problems and India’s determined march towards the position of the third-largest economy.

Economic Reform & GST Savings Festival

His main point is the economy: the introduction of lower GST (Goods and Services Tax) rates during the “GST Bachat Utsav” (Savings Festival) is portrayed as the citizens’ historic achievement with the latter saving thousands of crores.

He encourages people to welcome this reform-era change and to see that it is a stepping stone towards the realization of the “Viksit Bharat” (developed India) dream.

The Call for Swadeshi & Cultural Unity

Modi motivates people to go for “Swadeshi” — to love products made locally, and proudly say “This is Swadeshi!”

Also, he promotes the “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” idea (One India, Best India), raising the points that love for each other’s languages, cleanliness, good health, decreased use of oil in food, and yoga practice will bring the country closer to its ambitious goals.

Illumination Beyond Diyas

Taking the Deepavali analogy back to the very first point, Modi argues that lighting a lamp from another does not make the first one any less bright, rather the light gets bigger. He appeals to people to live the virtues of harmony, cooperation and positivity not only in the homes but also in the communities and even throughout the country.

The point he tries to make with the message is as clear as daylight: the festival is lamps and sweets but also collective upliftment, renewed hope, and shared responsibility.
