India’s Youth Empowered: 51,000 Appointments Delivered in 16th Rozgar Mela

New Delhi, July 12, 2025 - Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the 16th Rozgar Mela and handed over more than 51,000 appointment letters to the newly selected candidates for various departments and ministries. The employment fair was held in 47 places across India. It is part of the ongoing national employment initiative to create government jobs with transparency in recruitment.

The Prime Minister virtually addressed the appointees, saying they were recruited under transparent, good, and corruption-free recruitment, with the idea of "Bina Parchi, Bina Kharchi" – meaning, no recommendation and no bribes.

Emphasis on Youth Power

Highlighting India’s strength in youth and democracy as “two unlimited powers”, Modi stated they are essential to achieving the dream of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India). Modi remarked that when traveling the world recently, it was India’s youthful energy that stood out/represented a global source of potential.

The Expanding Reach of Rozgar Mela

Started in October 2022, Rozgar Mela’s goal is to provide 10 lakh jobs in a number of sectors. With the 16th edition, that figure is close to being accomplished.

In the April edition, recruitments occurred in the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), with over 6,600 candidates receiving job offers.

New Youth-Centric Schemes

At the Mela, PM Modi also announced a new employment-linked incentive scheme to boost job creation in the private sector and manufacturing industries. He challenged young Indians to explore startups, research, and innovation, describing them as important pillars of a future-ready economy.

A Move towards Self-Reliance

Not only is this Rozgar Mela filling gaps in government agencies, but it also aligns with complementary missions like Skill India, Atmanirbhar Bharat, and Startup India: the entire way to view India as a self-sufficient and developed economy.

In this way, through Rozgar Melas, the Modi government can continue to formally create employment, improve public service outputs, and finally empower the youth of the nation.
