Hyderabad finally reveals why Shami, couldn't play more than 9 matches in IPL
Hyderabad purchased Shami for 10 crores in the auction prior to this year's IPL. They leaped after Shami in order to beef up the bowling strength of the team. But that did not succeed. Shami has only picked up 6 wickets in nine games. He has conceded 11.23 runs per over. Hyderabad has been compelled to drop Shami from the first eleven.
Hyderabad beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 110 runs in their previous match. Shami didn't play in that match either. Vettori stated after the match, "Shami has not played T20Is for a long time. So it is taking him time to get back into his normal rhythm." Shami played in the IPL the last time in 2023. He took 28 wickets then for Gujarat Titans. Shami had won the purple cap. That time Gujarat were runners-up.
Shami's greatest asset is his length. He hasn't discovered that in this year's IPL. His swing has also reduced after recuperation from his injury. However, Vettori complimented the Bengal pacer on his sheer amount of work.
