A half-naked corpse of a 40-year-old ASHA worker was recovered from a corn field. Initial reports indicate that the woman was sexually assaulted and killed over a personal matter. The crime happened on Monday night in Alapur, Uttar Pradesh. The police have filed a case and are probing.

Discovery of Deceased ASHA Worker

As per local reports, the 40-year-old ASHA worker's body was discovered half-naked on Monday evening. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Brijesh Singh stated, "The woman who died was a resident of Hayatnagar village. The woman went to Kundan Nagla village during a vaccination campaign on Monday. She was last spotted in the evening as she was coming back to the village riding the scooter of a friend. Since then, the woman was not traced. At last, her body was recovered in a cornfield in Kharkholi village at the end of Alapur police station at night." Police moved towards the area after hearing this. The body has been taken for autopsy. Sources at the police stated that the actual cause of death would be known only after the autopsy.

Family Details and Custody of Suspects

SSP also informed that the victim has two sons and a daughter. The family was engaged in a land case with two individuals from the village in a civil court of Badaun. The two individuals have been taken into custody for questioning based on the complaint of the family. It is also being probed whether the murder was carried out due to an individual issue.
