A new interim government should be formed without Yunus!

Muhammad Yunus, chair of the advisory panel of the Bangladesh interim government, wanted to quit. Nahid Islam, organiser of the National Citizens Party (NCP), announced this on Thursday evening. Yunus called on the advisory panel of the interim government on Thursday. There, Yunus purportedly explained to them why he was disillusioned with the Bangladesh situation. Muhammad Yunus proposed the formation of a new interim government in Bangladesh. Yunus said he no longer wanted to stay.

Resignation Amidst Frustration

The interim government's advisory council had a regular meeting in Dhaka on Thursday afternoon. Even after the meeting, Yunus took a long time conferring with his advisors. The chief advisor indicated his willingness to resign there, said sources. He stated that he is frustrated in general with the routine work in Bangladesh, the protest processions blocking the streets and elsewhere across the country. All the political parties do not have the reform goal with which he started the interim government. Thus, he cannot move forward. He is encountering lack of cooperation in his work from every direction.

Speech on National Issues

The draft of the speech was also prepared at one stage. The chief advisor considered highlighting to the people of the country what problems exist. But the move to address the country was later put off. It might be discussed again in the future.

Upcoming General Elections

Yunus has promised several times that the Bangladesh general elections would be held between December and June. But he was not clear about this election in Thursday's session. The chief advisor himself is not clear whether the election will be held freely and fairly in the current state of the country. Yunus himself is not clear whether ballot snatching can be prevented in the elections or the police can prevent ballot snatching.
