Rohit Sharma-Virat Kohli could not lead the Indian team to the final. Therefore, the Indian board is going to lose a huge amount of money.
The ICC has revealed the prize money for the past two years of the World Test Championship cycle. A total of $5.76 million or Rs 49.28 crore will be given. The winning team in the final will receive $3.6 million or Rs 30.80 crore. This figure has been doubled more than the last two times. The runners-up team will receive $2.16 million or Rs 18.48 crore.
India is not entirely empty-handed either. They ranked third in the points table. As a result, the Indian board will receive $1.44 million or Rs. 12.32 crore. Actually, everyone involved in this competition will receive some amount of money. Pakistan, being at the end of the list, will receive the minimum amount of money. They will receive $4.8 million or Rs. 4.11 crore.
South Africa then became the first team to qualify for the final of the Test World Cup. They defeated Pakistan, West Indies, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka consecutively in series, and held India to a draw.
Australia qualified for the final by beating India 3-1 in the Test series at home. They also beat Pakistan 3-0. They also beat the series against New Zealand and Sri Lanka.
