India Wins the Toss and Opts to Bat

Indian captain Shubman Gill at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi won the toss and decided to bat first. After their victory in the first Test, India was keen to score big and put the West Indies under pressure. A good score on the flat wicket was what the home side's supporters were expecting.

Dream Opening Partnership

The openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul were brilliant in setting the tone for India's innings. Jaiswal was at his best with perfect timing for the covers and mid-wicket. Rahul was steady and the duo managed to build a good platform before leaving the ground for lunch. Their composed innings made it very difficult for the West Indies bowlers to find their lines, hence scores were not difficult as India got off to a great start.

Sudharsan Shines in Middle Order

Post Rahul's departure Sai Sudharsan came in and immediately took over the innings. Mixing patience and attack he made a partnership with Jaiswal walking all over the straights and soft hands for singles. Sudharsan's clean drives and efficient shot selection kept the Indian team on top throughout.

West Indies Bowling Experience Difficulties

 West Indies bowlers like Roston Chase and Jayden Seales were off their lengths and lines. The dead pitch went almost the whole way without much support for the bowlers. They were left exposed tight lines were hard to come by and the twist was giving away runs which most of the time went to byes and extras irritatingly so opponents not getting many wickets put the West Indies under a lot of pressure .

Tactical Brilliance by Gill

The tactics of Captain Shubman Gill such as changing the field placements and encouraging hitters to take calculated risk were beyond expectations. His stewardship made sure India kept the initiative throughout the session thereby paving a way for a very big innings for the team. 

Pitch and Weather Conditions Favor Batting

Delhi was the perfect place for cricket with the sun shining in the morning and a very flat track on offer. The pitch allowed the Indian batsmen to express themselves and the crowd reveled in the elegant stroke play of the top order. 

India Looks Set to Dominate

By lunch, India had reached 143/1, with Jaiswal and Sudharsan looking good. Day 2 will be an exciting time for batting as India will aim to not only extend the lead but also assert their superiority over the West Indies. The young Indian duo promise to keep the spectators' excitement running.
