Hundreds more killed in Gaza! Israel is choosing to target hospitals, says Hamas government

Israel has left the door open to fresh negotiations on a truce with the Palestinian militant group Hamas. But Israeli raids on Gaza persist. At least 103 individuals have died in Israeli strikes in Gaza since Saturday night, local hospital sources report. The Gaza Health Ministry, under Hamas, has accused Israel of conducting a series of targeted assaults on hospitals.

The war between Hamas and Israel started in October 2023. Over 50,000 Palestinians have died so far in the 19-month-long conflict. The number of casualties is even greater. There was a temporary ceasefire reached between Hamas and Israel on January 15 of this year, courtesy of Qatar, America and Egypt. But following the first phase of the ceasefire lapse, the Israeli forces restarted their attacks on Gaza early in March. The Israeli forces have heightened their attacks on Gaza over the last few days.

The news agency 'AP' reports that at least 48 individuals have been killed in an Israeli air raid on the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis. Hospital officials reported that at least 18 children and 13 women were among the fatalities. Israel had no immediate response to the night's attack on Saturday. But Israel asserts that it is not to blame for the killing of civilians. Hamas uses settlement areas to carry out its military operations. That is why such tragedies are occurring, Israel asserts.

Actually, Hamas leader Taher al-Nono stated to Reuters on Saturday, "New talks on a ceasefire in Gaza have begun in the Qatari capital Doha." Taher declared that Hamas will do all it could to assist the mediators to end the bloodshed in Gaza. Nevertheless, the Israeli military offensive in Gaza continues unabated. Consequently, there are concerns whether Tel Aviv will eventually sign a ceasefire agreement. No such statements have been made officially by Israel on the ceasefire negotiations, though.
