Google Launches Veo 3 for Gemini Pro Users Globally: AI Video Tool with Audio

On July 4, 2025, Google began providing the Veo 3 model to Gemini AI Pro users in 159 countries around the world. Veo 3 is Google's text-to-video generator for creating short video content with high visual fidelity that includes synchronized audio, sound effects, and character speech or dialogue—a major increase in the flexibility for AI-generated video content.

Limited Daily Usage for Gemini AI Pro Users

At this current time, subscribers to the Gemini Advanced plan, priced at $19.99/month, now have a maximum allowance of three videos per day per user in the Veo 3 model, where each video is up to 8 seconds in length. Veo 3 is part of Google's push for distributing AI video tools to a wider audience while managing infrastructure demand, as it is still very much in beta.

Realistic Sound: Moving Away from Silent Videos

One of the standout messages from Veo 3 is its ability to add synchronized audio, including the audible background, environment-driven sound effects related to the environment, and character speech or dialogue—a pivotal change from videos that were previously silent. This change was forecasted at Google I/O 2025, in their talk entitled "Silence: The End of Drug-Free AI Performers," where it was suggested that AI is entering the age of producing video without artificial silence!

Global Rollout with Ethical Controls

Starting with a soft launch of Veo 3 in certain regions like the Middle East and North Africa, the new AI tool is now available worldwide. All videos produced or generated by Veo 3 automatically embed Google’s SynthID watermark that identifies the content as AI-generated, which adds a layer of protection when managing misinformation and misuse of deepfakes. Google also released the SynthID Detector that enables users to confirm whether a piece of content is authentic.
