Following the Pahalgaon attack, Pakistan-sponsored hackers made 1.5 million cyber attacks on different websites within the country, but only 150 were effective
Following the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgaon, Pakistani-backed hackers made 1.5 million cyber attacks on several key Indian websites, as per an investigation report by the Maharashtra Cyber Cell. The report added that the hackers' success rate was low. They attacked Indian websites lakhs of times, but succeeded in 150 instances.
Cyber attacks were not just conducted from Pakistan, but also from Bangladesh, Indonesia, Morocco and some nations of West Asia, as per the investigation report of the Maharashtra Cyber Cell. The investigation report is titled 'Road of Vermilion'. The report also dismisses many allegations of the hackers.
For instance, hackers asserted that sensitive information was hacked from the servers of Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. They also asserted that cyber attacks on several power plants in India have led to power cuts in numerous locations. All these assertions are untrue, the report added.
Among the 150 websites that have been successfully hacked by hackers, there is a municipality website and a nursing training college website. Both websites were defaced by the hackers. But in the majority of cases, the hacker attacks have been foiled, as per the investigative report. It is learnt that the investigative report has already been submitted to different investigative agencies.
