100 days' work corruption: Gujarat minister's two sons held on charge
An FIR was registered in April against two sons of Gujarat's Minister of State for Panchayats Bachubhai Khabar, Balwant Khabar and Kiran Khabar, on corruption charges. They were released on bail in the case last Thursday. Kiran was again arrested soon after his release from prison. Balwant was also arrested on Sunday on an FIR in another case of the 100 days' work.
Complaint Filed for Misuse of Government Funds
Deputy Superintendent of Police Jagadish Bhandari informed that a complaint has been lodged against Balwant at Dahod police station. The complaint says Balwant's organisation has received Rs 33.89 lakh from the government under the 100-day project. But they did not undertake work that was allotted to the organisation.
Previous Corruption Case Involving Rs 71 Crore
The April case lodged against Balwant and Kiran was about a case of corruption to the tune of Rs 71 crore. The police had arrested them on May 16 on the charges of cheating and breach of trust. They were released from prison on Thursday in that case. They were arrested again subsequently.
