The four teams qualified for the playoffs are hoping to make it directly to the finals

Four teams have qualified for the IPL playoffs. Gujarat Titans, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians. The battle is now between the top two teams of the points table. If you remain in the top two teams, you have an additional opportunity to reach the final. If you are third or fourth, you have to play the elimination round. Losing that match results in elimination.
All teams that qualified for the play-offs have played 13 games. Shubman Gill is leading with 18 points. Punjab and Bangalore have 17 points. Virat Kohli is second in net run rate. Mumbai Indians are fourth with 16 points. Other four teams have one match remaining each in the league stage.
Gujarat's final match is with Chennai Super Kings on Sunday. If they win that game, the Shubmanads will be guaranteed the number one position on the points table. They will have 20 points. They will be left with 18 points if they lose to Chennai. In that situation too, they can stand at number two. In that situation, Bengaluru would be required to lose in the final game.
Punjab's remaining match, which is in second place, is against Mumbai on May 26. Both the teams are very much interested in this match. If Shreyas wins and either Bangalore or Gujarat loses their remaining match, Punjab will be guaranteed a top-two position. If Punjab loses to Mumbai, then Shreyas can fall to fourth position.
Bangalore is third. Kohli's next match is with Lucknow Super Giants on May 27. Kohli will need to win to remain in the top two. Also, one of either Gujarat or Punjab between them will need to lose their final game. Then Bangalore can end in the top two.
Mumbai are placed fourth. Hardik Pandya's side will have to win to remain in the top two. Meanwhile, they will also need to lose to either Gujarat or Bangalore on the final match. Punjab is their final match, scheduled on May 26.
