Sreeleela Might Take Janhvi Kapoor's Role in Dostana 2

In 2021, there was a disagreement between Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan about Dostana 2. Because of this, the producers needed to find new actors. Dharma Productions confirmed that Kartik Aaryan would not be in the film anymore.

Dostana 2 was supposed to be Lakshya's big Bollywood break. Instead, he debuted in the action thriller Kill in 2024, which was quite promising.

Now, according to a report from News18 Showsha, Sreeleela could replace Janhvi Kapoor in Dostana 2. Sreeleela has recently become very popular. She is currently filming an untitled musical by Anurag Basu with Kartik Aaryan. There are also rumors that she and Kartik might be dating.

A source told News18, "The story in Dostana 2 will stay the same, but we have new actors and a new director. Janhvi Kapoor, who was supposed to be the female lead, will not be in the film. We are thinking about choosing Sreeleela instead. Her dance in Pushpa 2: The Rule has made her very well-known. The Dostana 2 team is eager to have her in the movie."

The source also said, "There's high demand for Sreeleela, and people speak positively about her. She's filming with Anurag Basu and Kartik Aaryan right now. The creators of Dostana 2 decided to cast actors who haven't worked together before, making it exciting to see her chemistry with her co-stars."

Lastly, the source mentioned that Collin D'Cunha was set to direct Dostana 2. However, there are talks about Advait Chandan taking over as the director.
