When rumours of Dharmendra’s death flooded social media, panic and confusion rippled through Bollywood. Within hours, the false news was everywhere: shared, reposted, and mourned before anyone even checked the facts. But one person wasn’t ready to let it slide. Actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha, a close friend of Dharmendra, came forward to call out the media’s reckless handling of the story.

Outrage Over Fake News

Shatrughan Sinha, visibly angered, said he woke up to heartbreaking headlines about Dharmendra’s “demise” only to find out moments later that his old friend was alive and recovering in hospital. He admitted that even he believed the reports for a brief moment because they came from what seemed like credible sources.

“It’s shameful that such baseless stories are printed without verification,” he said, expressing relief that Dharmendra was safe and under medical care.

The actor also pointed out that the family, including Hema Malini and Esha Deol, never confirmed any such news, yet several outlets ran the story as fact. “If the family hasn’t spoken, who gives the media the right to declare someone dead?” Sinha asked bluntly.

A Wake-Up Call for the Media

Sinha’s statement resonated across the film industry, where many stars have faced similar hoaxes. His words highlighted a growing concern: the obsession with breaking news has begun to overshadow basic journalistic ethics. In the rush to grab attention, truth often becomes collateral damage.

Dharmendra’s Condition

Thankfully, Dharmendra is recovering and in stable condition. His family has urged fans not to believe everything circulating online. The incident, though, has left a mark, a reminder that in an age ruled by speed and clicks, humanity and responsibility must come first.

Because when news stops being true, it stops being news at all.
