Rohit Sharma, Cummins Slam ICC as England Set to Host WTC Finals Till 2031

Rohit Sharma and Pat Cummins had protested against the World Test Championship final being hosted by Lord's annually. The captains of the two teams who ended up in the final last season stated that it was not appropriate to host the final at a particular ground every year. But the International Cricket Council (ICC) is not paying much attention to what they have to say.

BCCI Keen to Host WTC Final

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has shown its interest in hosting the World Test Championship final a number of times. But the next three finals can also be played in England.

Rohit Sharma Questions

Rohit Sharma stated, "Why is there a final of World Test Championship each time after the IPL? This game can be staged in March. Why only play the final in June? The game can be staged anytime of the year, at any stadium in the world. Why play it only in England? It can be played in other nations also."

BCCI Pushes for Hosting Rights

BCCI officials will insist on the ICC hosting the Test World Cup final. India had hosted the final of the World Test Championship for the initial two years. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli this time could not make the cut.

England Dominates Hosting Duties Till 2031

The England Cricket Board has hosted the final match for the initial three years. The final was organized for the first time in Southampton and the next time in The Oval. This one is played at Lord's this time. BCCI can have to wait for eight years to play this game. Because as per ICC sources, England could be on duty to host the final until 2031.
