The drama this time isn’t inside the Bigg Boss house, it’s outside. The Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) has ordered the immediate closure of Vels Studios & Entertainment (Jolly Wood Studios & Adventures) in Bidadi, where Bigg Boss Kannada is filmed.

Inspectors discovered that the studio was operating without valid environmental clearances under the Water and Air Pollution Acts. Following this, officials instructed the local electricity board (BESCOM) to cut power and directed district authorities to enforce the shutdown order.

What Went Wrong

The inspection report paints a worrying picture. The studio’s sewage treatment plant, with a capacity of 250 kilolitres per day, wasn’t functioning. Untreated wastewater was reportedly being discharged outside the premises, raising clear environmental red flags.

The team also found unmanaged solid waste scattered around the site like plastic cups, food plates, and other disposables dumped without segregation. To make things worse, two diesel generator sets were found running without proper emission controls, adding to the pollution levels.

This wasn’t the first warning. KSPCB had issued earlier notices, but the violations continued, prompting the board to step in with stricter action.

The order has thrown the ongoing Season 12 of Bigg Boss Kannada into complete disarray. Contestants were reportedly asked to vacate the premises, and filming has been suspended indefinitely. Power lines to the set have been disconnected, and access to the studio has been restricted.

Host Kichcha Sudeep and the production team haven’t made an official statement yet, but the shutdown has sparked protests and heated debates online. Environmental activists have also staged demonstrations outside the studio, demanding accountability from the show’s producers.
