Jamie Lever Opens Up on Body Shaming: "My Own Body Became Something I Was Ashamed Of"

According to her, "I have always had to listen to nasty remarks regarding my body shape and skin color. My own body, at one point, became something I was ashamed of!" When she opted for her father's line of work, Bollywood seemed to turn up its nose at her. Jamie overheard sarcasm, "Who would hire such an ugly girl!" Some even prayed for her death. She overheard, "The color of the skin is dark, the smile is witch-like, you will never be hired in the industry. Why don't you die?" Jamie responded with a gentle smile, stating that the color of one's skin is still a major concern in the industry.
Battling Body Shaming with Grace
Jamie says, include many weaknesses in his looks as well. "I have a pear-shaped figure. I was also obese. Therefore, my hips were heavy. That's why I had to hear bad remarks about it. At home, she always asked to dress in clothes that covered my body." She wore long kurtis or clothes covering her legs.
