In style, Sujeet wins gold for India
Sujeet from India had one of the best results of the day in the 65-kg class. When Sujeet played Ali Rahimzade of Azerbaijan in the first period, he stayed calm and only gave up one action point. He turned up the heat in the second round with two clean takedowns and tough mat control to get a famous win. The Indian people were proud of his win, and it gave them extra motivation before the World Championships.
The Rule of Tazhudinov keeps going at 97 kg
Akhmed Tazhudinov of Bahrain, who won the Olympics, showed once again how dominant he is. He beat Poland's Zbigniew Baranowski easily in the final to win gold in the 97-kg event. He won three of his matches by technical fall. His hard work since the Olympics has raised the bar in men's freestyle.
Suda of Japan Scores an Amazing Last-Second Win
It was amazing how Takara Suda of Japan came back in the 61 kg final. Suda made a great four-point move with seconds left to turn a 3–1 deficit into a 5–3 win over Kyrgyzstan's Taiyrbek Zhumashbek Uulu. His finish before the buzzer was one of the best parts of Day 1.
