Former US President Joe Biden diagnosed with prostate cancer, the lethal disease has reached his bones!

Former US President Joe Biden was diagnosed with cancer. Following a physical check-up last Friday, he was diagnosed with bladder cancer. The doctors also mentioned that the disease is in a highly 'aggressive' stage. Biden's office released a statement on Sunday (local time). The treatment has started.

82-year-old American Democrat Joe Biden occupied the US presidency on January 20, 2021. He defeated incumbent President Donald Trump. Biden was the President of the US until January this year. Despite Trump's comeback to power being confirmed earlier. Biden's office told in a statement that the previous president had been experiencing difficulty urinating for the last few days. Prostate cancer was confirmed by certain tests from doctors. The cancer has also spread to the bones from the bladder. Doctors are in discussions with Biden's family. The statement further noted, "The disease is at a very aggressive stage. However, this cancer is hormone-sensitive. As a result, there is a chance for treatment.

When the cancer begins to spread, it is 'stage 4' or the fourth stage of the disease.". But prostate cancer can normally be detected sooner and the treatment is initiated accordingly. According to some physicians, if the treatment is initiated early, it may be possible to eradicate prostate cancer completely. News agency Reuters, quoting data from the 'Centers for Disease Control and Prevention', reported that 2.30 lakh individuals had been hit by prostate cancer in 2021. In 70 percent of the cases, the illness was found when it was not spreading beyond the bladder. The cancer was found at the stage when it was diagnosed in Biden, only eight percent of the cases in 2021.

Throughout his presidency, critics continued to question Biden's physical well-being and mental acuity. He was also set to be the Democratic Party's candidate during the November 2024 election. But if he is re-elected, the issue of whether or not he can serve the functions of the presidency for a further four years has started to come up. Biden's 'unusual' conduct was also at the centre of attention during the in-person debate with Republican contender Trump. Trump made public taunts at him. Later, Biden pulled out of the election contest at the eleventh hour. His own Vice President Kamala Harris emerged as the Democratic candidate in place of him. But the Republicans laughed last. Trump came back to power in a landslide victory.
