EPFO Recruitment: Thousands of Employees to Get Promotion, 9000 Vacancies Open
EPFO plans promotions for thousands and may fill 9000 vacant posts in 2025, following a 2016 cadre review and recent board directives.

EPFO Recruitment: The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation is paving the way for promotions for all its existing employees. If this promotion happens, EPFO may soon release recruitment for around 9000 vacancies. As of now, there are a total of more than 24,000 posts across 21 zonal offices, 138 regional offices, 114 district offices, and five special state offices, out of which approximately 9000 posts under Group A, Group B, and Group C are vacant.
After a two-day meeting recently, EPFO has promised to increase the number of employees and grant promotions to existing ones, which has brought a wave of happiness among all employees.
EPFO Recruitment
A member of the employees' organization has informed that the cadre review in EPFO is not conducted regularly, due to which the status of most employees remains stagnant. It is necessary to conduct a cadre review every five years to address any shortcomings. Over the last decade, the workload on employees has increased manifold, which is why there is now a need to increase the number of employees in EPFO.
Let us tell you that the last cadre reorganization was approved in 2016, in which the number of Group A posts increased from 859 to 1039. Last year, in November, during a meeting of the Central Board of Trustees, the labor ministers issued directives to form a committee of officers.
Why Aren’t EPFO Posts Increasing?
An EPFO member has informed that many posts in EPFO remain vacant, but instead of filling these posts, EPFO has relied on technology and outsourced the work to private contractors. This is the reason why new employee recruitment is not taking place.
