'Encrypted chat'! Jyoti employed different tactics for keeping the talks confidential
Haryana YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra employed different ways to keep her communication with Pakistani agents confidential. Such details are emerging during the investigation. As per a report in media news channel CNN, some new 'digital' proof of Jyoti's 'spying' has also fallen in the hands of the investigators. As per them, Jyoti's online video posts were meant to conceal the truth! She used to communicate with the Pakistani agents on 'encrypted' sites regularly. There is ample evidence in this context with the detectives.
Encrypted Communications
Haryana Police asserted that Jyoti exploited social media sites such as Snapchat, Telegram, WhatsApp. All of these are 'encrypted'. As per a CNN report, Jyoti was approached by Pakistan Embassy staffer Ehsan Dar alias Danish via Harkirat Singh, a member of staff at the Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee of Haryana. Apparently, Harkirat assisted Jyoti at least twice. Investigators have already confiscated several digital items and mobiles from her.
Persistent Contact with Pakistani Nationals
The probe so far has shown Jyoti in touch with different Pakistani nationals from 2023. She traveled to Pakistan during that period. Even after she came back to India, Jyoti remained in touch with Pakistani nationals. The probe also picked up the name of an individual known as 'Jat Randhawa'. But the investigators were unable to trace the presence of anyone by that name. Based on sources, Jyoti alleged that she had saved the number of a Pakistani agent known as Shakir under his name in her cell phone so that she would not be arrested.
Coded Communication
As per sources, Jyoti used to converse over WhatsApp with an ISI 'handler' called Ali Hasan. They would converse in secret language. Here and there 'protocol', here and there 'undercover agent' - such secret words were used, the source says. It is reported that this Ali was responsible for Jyoti's security in Pakistan.
