Dhurandhar First Look Revealed: Ranveer Singh is Back in a Brutal Avatar

On July 6, Ranveer Singh’s birthday marked the release of Dhurandhar’s teaser. Directed by Aditya Dhar, this film will expand the legacy of the YRF Spy Universe. The teaser describes the dark, electrifying, and action-packed vibe of the film, and it stars Ranveer Singh in what might be his most intense avatar yet.

Teasers Overview

The teaser unfolds with R. Madhavan’s voiceover followed by the song “Na De Dil Pardesi Nu”, setting a serious tone. Ranveer is versatile even with his looks and we’ve had glimpses of it before in Ram-Leela, Padmavat, Gully Boy and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani. This time he’s a rugged fighter guy with long hair and a heavy beard which makes his appearance almost unrecognisable. He delivers the line, “Ghayal hoon isiliye ghatak hoon.” which lingers even after the teaser ends.

Strong Cast

Backing him is an ensemble that includes Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna and Sara Arjun. Each gets a brief but intense moment in the teaser, hinting at intricate characters and impactful dynamics within the story. Madhavan, especially, seems to have a vital presence, possibly as an antagonist.

Another Gripping Addition to the YRF Spy Universe

It is a part of the YRF Spy Universe, Dhurandhar connects to earlier films like Tiger Zinda Hai, War and Pathaan, but this one feels more grounded and emotionally intense. The visual palette is gritty, gory and shadowy, wheeling away from the glossy finish of the previous films in the franchise.

Praise-Worthy BGM

The background score is a mix of Punjabi and folk which creates a dark tone complementing the dramatic action and the underlying vengeance. The action shots cast animalistic energy where brutality takes over.

Thoughts About the Teaser

Overall the teaser has sparked strong reactions online. Fans are calling Ranveer’s transformation “explosive” and praising the moody atmosphere and build-up. The teaser indicates that Dhurandhar is not just another spy sequence but it has a deep-rooted rage and is a tale of personal scars. With its strong cast, stylised grit, and Aditya Dhar's sharp direction, this could be a defining moment for the YRF Spy Universe when it releases on December 5, 2025.
