Court directs Nusrat Faria to be remanded into jail custody on attempted murder charges

Controversy for Bangladeshi actress Nusrat Faria. The judge of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court of Dhaka took the decision to hold the heroine in jail custody. She is a well-known face among both Bengals. The heroine has done numerous films in Kolkata. There have been charges of attempted murder against Nusrat. The police on Sunday arrested her from Dhaka Airport's immigration check post. She was arrested on the basis of a case filed at Bhatara Police Station in Dhaka city.

Nusrat was initially taken to the police station but was subsequently sent to the office of the Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police, according to a report published by Bangladeshi media portal 'Prothom Alo'. When she was presented in front of the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court on Monday, the judge directed her to be detained in jail custody. According to 'Prothom Alo' sources, Omar Faruq Faruqi, public prosecutor of the Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court, confirmed the matter. He informed the media, "Considering the case of attempt to murder lodged against Nusrat at Bhatara Police Station, a request was made for detaining the heroine in a reform institute. Upon listening to both parties, the court directed her to be taken to jail custody. The Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police brought the actress before the court in the morning."

Nusrat was accused of attempt on life during the July uprising last year. Nusrat joined the world of acting in 2015. She is a familiar face both in Bangladesh and outside. She acted in movies such as 'Hero 420', 'Badshah the Don', 'Boss 2', 'Inspector Notty K', 'Bibah Abhiyan', 'Abar Bibah Abhiyan'. Her chemistry with Jeet too has been much talked about. She also portrayed former Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina in the biopic 'Mujib: The Making of a Nation'.
