Schools affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) have been given one last chance to complete the List of Candidates (LOC) submission for the 2026 Class 10 and 12 board exams. The board has reopened the LOC submission portal for a short window, allowing late submissions but with a late fee.

Final deadline for submissions

The portal, which officially closed on September 30, is now live again. CBSE has made it clear that this is the final extension and no further requests will be entertained once the deadline ends. Schools submitting through challan have time till October 8, 2025 (11:59 pm), while those using online payment methods such as UPI, NEFT, or debit/credit cards can submit till October 11, 2025 (11:59 pm).

Failing to meet these dates could result in students being unable to appear for their board exams, a risk the board says will rest entirely with the schools concerned.

Why This Extension Matters

The CBSE had already issued multiple reminders urging schools to complete their LOC submissions on time. Despite that, several institutions missed the September deadline. Reopening the portal is being viewed as a final goodwill gesture to ensure no eligible student loses the chance to sit for the 2026 exams.

For many schools, especially those managing large batches, the delay often comes from incomplete student data or last-minute verification issues. This short extension is meant to bridge that gap but CBSE has made it clear there will be no second chances.

What Schools Need To Do Now

  • Verify whether their LOC submission is complete and error-free.

  • Choose the payment method carefully because challan payments close earlier.

  • Inform parents and students to avoid last-minute confusion.

  • Complete the process before October 11 without fail.

In short, this is the final call. Schools that don’t act now could risk their students’ eligibility for the 2026 board exams.
