CBSE 2025 Compartment Results: An Overview

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the results for the Class 12 compartment (supplementary) examination results on August 1, 2025, after the compartment (supplementary) examinations were conducted on July 15, 2025.

General Performance and Trends

Participation: Of the 143,581 students who registered for the examination, 138,666 appeared for the examination.

Pass Percentage:  Of the students who appeared for the examination, only 53,201 students passed, resulting in a pass percentage of 38.36%, highlighting the rigour of the supplementary examination itself.

Gender and Special Categories: Of the students who passed, girls passed with a percentage of 41.35% and boys passed with a percentage of 36.79%.

The pass percentage for Children with Special Needs (CWSN) was 50.18 %, where 273 CWSN students appeared and 137 passed their examinations. The total pass percentage for students at Foreign Schools was 52.94%, where the number of students who appeared were 918, with a breakdown of students passing that were 486.

In contrast, the number of students who passed the CBSE Class 12 examinations that took place in May 2025 had a total pass percentage of 88.39%. The comparison between the two result types speaks to the requirement and need to pass a compartment (supplementary) examination, as a means to ensure the confusion regarding each examination type presented in the 2025 cohort.

What the Results Contain

Every student's mark sheet will now show subject-wise theory and practical marks, total marks, and whether they passed (or not). Students can simply log on to cbseresults.nic.in with their Roll Number, School Number, and Admit Card ID to see the results.

What Students Should Do

  • If you passed:  Congratulations! Just patiently await advice from your school about receiving your final mark sheet and passing certificate.

  • If you Failed:  You may wish to consider such things as re-evaluation or you can attempt the examinations again next year. CBSE usually releases guidance for these kinds of cases after results.

And finally, just as a reminder, keep checking CBSE platforms for any announcements related to Class 10 supplementary results, which are expected shortly.
