Traveling from Mumbai Airport Has Become Expensive, Passengers Will Have to Pay This Much Extra

Mumbai Airport: If you live in Mumbai and are planning to travel from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, hold on a moment. Traveling from here may now prove to be a bit expensive for you. The Airport Economic Regulatory Authority has recently approved an increase in the User Development Fee. After this, the increased ticket rates are set to be implemented from May 16, 2025, and this User Development Fee will continue to apply until March 31, 2026. Because of this, all passengers may have to pay a slightly higher ticket fare.
User Development Fee Increased for Domestic Passengers
So far, domestic passengers traveling from Mumbai Airport had to pay ₹120 as UDF. But now this amount has been increased and set at ₹175. In this way, you are seeing an increase in your UDF. Passengers arriving in Mumbai will have to pay ₹75 as UDF. Along with domestic passengers, the UDF for passengers traveling internationally has also been increased, due to which you will have to pay a higher fare for international flights.
Under this new increased policy, economy class passengers will have to pay a fee of ₹615. Business class passengers will have to pay ₹695. Earlier, this fare was only ₹260 and ₹340. In this way, passengers traveling internationally will have to pay almost double the UDF.
Relief for Airlines
While the burden of UDF has been increased on passengers, some relief is being provided to airlines here. The regulator has reduced landing and parking fees for airlines, due to which the operational cost of air travel will now be lower. This decision is being taken due to competition among different airline companies.
According to the information received, AERA has taken this decision to balance the revised aircraft operator costs. Because of this, passengers will not face too many problems, and airlines will not incur too much loss either.
