Housefull 5 teaser disappears from YouTube after 'copyright claim'
The trailer of Akshay Kumar's next comedy movie Housefull 5 had been launched on April 30 in a big way. The multi-starrer directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment was scheduled to release on June 6, and therefore, promotions were about to go into high gear this month. But now, just under a month before the movie comes out, the teaser has been taken down from YouTube, and it appears a 'copyright claim' is the cause.
The teaser went up on April 30 on the YouTube account of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and had gotten millions of hits since then, all within the space of 10 days. It was removed, though, by the early morning of May 9. On visiting the page, it had an error message stating that the video "is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Mofusion Studios."
The teaser continues to be posted on Instagram, where the multiple actors of the film, viz., Akshay Kumar, Jacqueline Fernandez, Riteish Deshmukh, and Sonam Bajwa, had posted it on April 30. The teaser welcomes one into the universe of Housefull 5 through its massive cast, as music plays in the background of the song Laal Pari sung by Yo Yo Honey and Simar Kaur.
It is not certain what the Mofusion Studios copyright strike is all about. Mofusion is a record label company based in India that makes Diljit Dosanjh's and Jasmine Sandlas's songs, among others. HT contacted Mofusion to ask for clarification regarding the copyright claim but is still waiting for an answer.
HT also contacted Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. The tale will be updated once any response or information on this is received.
Housefull 5 boasts a super heavyweight cast like Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Fardeen Khan, Shreyas Talpade, Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, Dino Morea, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, Chitrangada Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Soundarya Sharma, Chunky Pandey and Johnny Lever. There has not been any communication from the producers yet whether this temporary setback would have any effect on the campaign or the release.
