Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold Leak Shows Tough New Competition for Samsung's Foldables

Just weeks before its expected launch date of August 20th, details about Google's exciting new Pixel 10 Pro Fold surfaced online, with enough information that should not  be left unreported. Renowned leaker Roland Quandt, via WinFuture, had enough details for the entire phone, from build quality to battery life.

Toughen Up With More Brightness: Design & Display

Google appears to be taking bold design chances with a new phone that is both tough and pretty. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is claimed to come with an aerospace / aviation-style aluminum and foldable glass body, and an IP68-dust and waterproof hinge (a first for a foldable phone), putting it one step ahead of the Galaxy Z Fold 7..

The inside foldable display is an 8-inch OLED display with an insane 3,000-nit peak brightness and 120 Hz refresh rate, while the original outside panel is 6.4-inches OLED with the same specs as twice that screen brightness.

Performance and battery - Power Inside

Powering the device, the Tensor G5 chip with the Titan M2 security chip is running Android 16. We should expect very impressive specs: 16 GB RAM; Two variants; 256 GB, 512 GB, and the extreme variant of 1 TB UFS 4.0 internal storage.

The battery was also upgraded to 5,015 mAh, with both 30 W wired and wireless charging at 15 W. Google has noted there is an "Extreme Power Saving Mode" that can give up to 72 hours of use.

Say Cheese: Camera and AI Features

For the camera lovers out there, there is a 48 MP sensor as the base sensor, a 10.5 MP ultra-wide, and a 10.8 MP telephoto sensor that features an impressive 10× optical zoom, in addition, there are two 10 MP selfie cameras, one internal and one external. There is also speculation about some AI features being added as well, for example, an AI camera coach with Gemini to help you capture a photo through helpful directions and suggestions.

Competition and Timing: What it Means

Everything points to a launch on August 20th during Google's "Made by Pixel" event—but it may be delayed until October due to supply chain issues. Although the price for India is expected to start around ₹1,79,999, this is close to top-tier competitors with foldable phones also.

If these leaks are accurate, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is set to be a very viable alternative to Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 7—especially with a more durable framework, better brightness, better battery life, and AI. This could be the fold that can actually take on the top position against Samsung.
