Nearly 25 days have elapsed since the Pahalgaon attack. The security agencies and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) are still in the dark on what has happened to the militants who carried out the attack.

Following the Pahalgaon terror attack, India issued several stern diplomatic actions against Pakistan. Then, India carried out a surprise attack at night to eliminate terrorist camps in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and within Pakistan - 'Operation Sindoor'. Following India's retaliatory action, there was fighting day and night with Pakistan for a couple of days and eventually a ceasefire was declared. Amidst all this, the police and security personnel are carrying out raids and search operations in the valley. Six terrorists have already been killed in Shopian and Pulwama raids. Two partners of the terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba were apprehended by the police on Friday. Eight more terrorists are, however, in the crosshairs of the investigating agency. Search operations were carried out in 10 locations in the valley including Kupwara, Srinagar, and Baramulla on Saturday to search for them, according to sources. But none of them have been arrested or detained yet.

The army and the administration also identified a list of local militants after the Pahalgaon incident. They destroyed many of their homes. The home of Asif Sheikh, who hails from Pulwama, and Adil Thokar, who hails from Anantnag, were destroyed. Their sketches also appeared. Then, the police and the army got the report that there were three militants in Shopian last Tuesday. Then the operation. There was an exchange of fire between the two sides. Army sources said that three militants were eliminated in the operation. They are Shahid Kutte, Adnan Shafi Dar, Ehsan Ahmed Sheikh.
