Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana has been creating headlines since the day it was announced. The first look finally dropped on July 3, 2025, and instantly became a hit news. The first look is no short of a wonder. The incredible visuals, which lasted just a few seconds, really looked extravagant and increased the excitement amongst the audience. Budget of the Film

Ramayana brings together a star-studded cast - Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi steps into the role of Sita, and Yash portrays the intense Ravana. Sunny Deol is said to appear as Hanuman. With such powerful names, this retelling promises both grandeur and emotional depth. The other characters will be played by Amitabh Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Sheeba Chaddha, Bobby Deol, Vivek Oberoi and many others.
Two Main Ingredients of Ramayana - VFX and Music
This Ranbir Kapoor-starrer movie is shaping up to be a visual and musical marvel. With cutting-edge VFX led by DNEG, the film promises to bring the epic’s grandeur alive, think divine battles, mystical landscapes, and lifelike creatures. DNEG has previously done VFX for movies like - Dune, Interstellar, Bramhastra, Oppenheimer, etc. The music, meanwhile, is expected to stir emotions deeply, blending traditional Indian sounds with cinematic richness. Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman are coming together to create a unique musical experience for the viewers of Ramayana. Together, the visuals and score aim to transport the audience straight into the heart of this age-old story, but with a modern cinematic soul.
Expected Release of Part 1
Ramayana Part: 1 is aimed at releasing next year during Diwali. The early development including the scripting of the movie began around 2015-2016. The shooting for Part: 1 started from the year 2023. Ramayana being a big-budget film required a long duration of shoot. The shooting for Part: 2 is still midway as of now.
