Bank Rules: Recently, a bank has issued guidelines to all its account holders, according to which they will have to maintain a minimum balance of ₹10,000 in their bank account. If they fail to maintain a balance of ₹10,000 beyond a certain limit, they may have to pay a penalty of 6% or up to a maximum of ₹500. These guidelines have recently been issued by the Bank of Singapore, which also has some branches in India.
We are talking about DBS Bank, where, according to the information available on the website, after 1 August 2025, you will have to maintain a minimum average monthly balance of ₹10,000. If you fail to do so, you will have to pay a 6% penalty. Information about this is also being shared with customers through SMS.
Bank Rules Will Change from 1 August
From 1 August 2025, the rules of DBS India Bank are going to change. You may now have to pay a higher non-maintenance charge. If you also have an account with this bank, you need to keep this rule in mind. Under no circumstances should your balance fall below ₹10,000, otherwise, you will have to pay a 6% penalty.
ATM Charges Were Increased in May 2025
Recently, the Reserve Bank of India approved an increase in ATM charges. This rule was implemented from May 2025. Due to this, after the free transaction limit is exhausted, DBS Bank now charges ₹23 for each ATM transaction. If you withdraw money from an ATM other than DBS Bank’s ATM after the free transaction limit is over, you will have to pay ₹23. However, if you withdraw from the bank’s ATM, no charge will be imposed.
